“Overall, I had a great stay at Laura's place. Everything was spotless and well organized, both on the second floor where I was staying and in the shared kitchen and living room. The house is lovely and had everything I needed, a dishwasher and an in-unit washer/dryer, which made day-to-day life a lot easier. The views from my unit were absolutely beautiful too. Laura is a wonderful host. She has two sweet dogs who are very well behaved, and she was thoughtful and welcoming throughout my stay. She walked me through the house rules clearly, and whenever I needed something she was happy to help, whether that meant explaining how things worked around the house or sharing tips about the city. She even baked from time to time and always offered me some, which made the place feel like home. The neighborhood is a quiet residential area and I enjoyed it a lot. It felt safe; I parked my car on the street every day and never had a problem. The location is excellent as well. I was commuting to Redwood Shores daily, and the house is close to the freeway, so the drive was easy and I skipped the traffic inside the city. If you do want to head downtown, public transport is convenient and within walking distance, there's even a bus stop right in front of the house. Feel free to reach out if you have any questions about her place ( =”

When should I start looking for intern housing?
The earlier someone books, the more homes they have to choose from, and the better prices go first.
June 2026: new homes vs interns searching
In January, 21 interns started looking for a June move-in, and 17 new homes were listed. By April, 304 interns started looking in a single month, against 25 new homes, about 12 interns for every new home. When demand outpaces supply, more interns compete for each home, and the best-priced homes are the first to go. Booking before that rush gets you more choice at better prices.
Only June 2026 move-ins are counted. New homes are listings that could cover a June move-in, counted in the month they were first published. Interns searching are people looking for a June move-in on Ohana, counted once, in the month they first searched or messaged a host.

How do Oracle interns find a place in San Francisco?
A summer internship is a fixed set of dates, not a year-long lease. The interns who settle in calmly are the ones who match housing to those dates, pick a neighborhood they can commute from, and book while there are still homes to choose from. On Ohana, Oracle interns rent furnished rooms and apartments from people who already live in San Francisco, for the months of the program rather than a hotel rate.
When should I pin down the dates?
Internship offers often name a season first and the real start and end dates later. Oracle interns get those two dates in writing, then look for a stay that covers them with a day or two on either side. Arriving before the first morning leaves time to unpack and ride the commute once with no clock running. Leaving a day after the last day avoids a same-day move. If the program shifts the dates, change the stay then, while the listing is still yours.
