100 beds • 50 baths
Here at the Pearl St Co-op, we are a diverse community of about 120 students from all around the world and of all ages. We like to fill our weekends with trips to the green belt, hosting bands in our courtyard, and sometimes camping or traveling. Our members have done all sorts of amazing things and each contributes to the house in their own special way. In the past we have had people lead yoga classes, teach dance or art classes, make homemade ice cream and other late night snacks, fix and sew clothing, and more! The co-op houses up to 120 members, with four halls of bedrooms surrounding a courtyard with pool and sundeck. Every bedroom has an attached bath shared with one other room. The co-op also offers several large common areas that are separated from living areas but open to all residents, including a weight room, computer lab, and a band practice room. Lease charges include utilities and internet, as well as prepared meals and 24/7 access to a stocked kitchen. Residents are asked to contribute 2-4 hours per week toward meals, cleaning, or other tasks, and by working together the co-op can handle the shopping, meal planning, and other normal daily chores.

A non-profit housing co-op offering affordable student housing since 1968, College Houses houses up to 525 members across our seven properties. Rent at the co-op includes utilities and internet, and most of our houses also include daily meals and 24/7 access to a fully stocked kitchen. (The Nueces and Opsis properties are apartment-style housing and do not include meals.) Residents in apartment units at the co-op (in Opsis or Nueces) are asked to contribute 1-2 hours per week toward minor upkeep at the building. Residents at other co-op properties (Laurel, 21st St, Pearl St, Taos, or Halstead) are asked to contribute up to 4 hours per week to help with preparing meals, minor maintenance, cleaning, or other tasks. In exchange, the co-op provides daily prepared meals in a stocked and cleaned kitchen open to any resident. The co-op's properties offer other amenities, which in most cases include a movie room, gym, and computer room. Various houses also include a pool, rooftop deck, band practice rooms separated from living spaces, or outdoor green space.
